Tarragona is situated in the extreme north east of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the most southerly city of Catalonia.

The climate is mild with an average temperature of 23º. The extensive beaches of  fine golden sand, and its extraordinary artistic and architectural patrimony, declared World Patrimony by UNESCO makes Tarragona one of the most important tourist places  in Europe.

It is well connected with Europe and the rest of the Peninsula. There are two airports in the proximity, one in Reus (7 km) and one in Barcelona (82kms) and a Maritime Port of major importance in the Mediterranean.

Tarragona is also a connecting point between two of the principle motorways in Spain: The Mediterranean motorway which joins Alicante to France and the rest of Europe ; and the North motorway which starts in Tarragona  and goes on to the Basque Country.
