His being
the son of a fundamental figure in Modernism, Lluís Domènech i Montaner, he
naturally marked the professional course of this architect (1881-1962). From
a very early age he collaborated with his father in numerous projects in
districts of the Camp de Tarragona, for example, in the cellars of the
Cooperativa de L’Espluga de Francolí (1913) and later he assumed the
responsibility to finish the “Hospital de Sant Pau” in Barcelona and the
“Instituto Pere Mata” in Reus. From 1920 to 1950, Domènech was Professor of
the School of Architecture in Barcelona, where he trained innumerable
architects of new generations. |
