Gigantea
(Del lat.
gigantea, t. f. de eus, giganteo) f. girasol, planta. con flores amarillas que
se doblan en la madurez y fruto con muchas semillas negruzcas comestibles y de
las que se puede extraer aceite comestible.
The
name chosen for the Restaurant in Hotel Mas Passamaner `La Gigantea
is in homage to the origins of the proprietors of the Posada de la
Casa del Abad de Ampudia (Palencia) where the Girasol plant is known
as Gigantea.
The
well known chef Joaquim Koerper has transferred from the Restaurante
Girasol(Moraira, Alicante) where he was awarded
2 Michelen Stars to the Hotel Monumento Mas Passamaner (La Selva del Camp,
Tarragona).
