Following the
death of the proprietor Mas Passamaner had many different owners. In 2001 the
Architect Ángel García Puertas acquired the property which by then was in need
of major renovation. The buildings charm completely captivated the Architect
and the final results of his devotion to its reconstruction are admired by all
who witness them.
The buildings
structure is classical and proportioned. Integrated in its Modernist
construction is what is thought to have been an old masía.(little old country
house) Each contain a ground floor, first and second floor, and are joined to
the tower.
The façade is
beautifully decorated in sky blue tiling with delicately defined letter
tracings. Other types of work can be seen in the cornices and columns, glazed
ceramics in rose window and rivets, wrought iron and sculptured stone work in
the brackets, and crowns of the columns, elements from where the frontal
belvedere window stands out clearly. The wood carpentry of the windows and
Venetian shutters is also painted in sky blue.
The laterals
and stair banisters are solidly built in marble and wood. In the interior the
bright light is generated by the pane glassed doors, the ceilings of the
Catalan arches, and the distribution of the bedrooms on both floors around a
central hall. |
