SUPERIOR DOUBLE ROOM 309
de Salvador Valeri i Pupurull

This Barcelona architect (1873-1954) is one of the artificers who showed that Modernism was not confined to the city of Barcelona: he spread great Modernist works through several places in the Baix Llobregat area. Valeri’s work is characterised by the use of undulating shapes and exuberant coloured ornament. A proof of this is to be seen in what has been considered his emblematic work: the “Casa Comalat” (1911), 442 Diagonal, Barcelona. Valeri also worked for many years as the municipal architect of Papiol, Baix Llobregat. Heritage of his passing through this place is “Can Bou”, also known as the “Casa de Piedra” (1914), a remarkable Modernist building in the old quarter.

Casa Comalat en Barcelona

The Casino in Sant Andreu de la Barca (1924), various cellars in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, the “Casa Gensana” and “Fábrica Prats” in Sant Vicenç dels Horts are very notable and greatly enrich the architectural heritage of these towns.
