This
Barcelona architect (1877-1954), one of the so-called second generation of
Modernist architects, (those graduating about 1905) was a municipal
architect of several towns in the Vallès Oriental of Catalonia. His main
Modernist buildings are in La Garriga, his family’s native town: “Can
Raspall” (1905), “Casa Pere Serra” (1910), “Casa Barbey” (1910-11), “La
Bombonera” (1911) and “Torre Iris” (1911). Like many of his companions in
his generation, Raspall gradually blended into his style aspects of
“Noucentisme” (a trend commencing in 1906, at first parallel to the existing
Modernism and later succeeding it) as well as the various artistic
influences from Europe and the rest of the world, “Art Déco” and vanguard. |
