This
architect and writer (1880-1935) produced most of his works in Girona, his
native city. The “Farmacia Masó” (1908) and the “Teixidor” Flour mill
(1910-11) are outstanding examples of his training years. In 1912, after his
honeymoon in Central Europe, Masó discovered a new type of architecture,
much more rationalised, which took him away from the classical Modernist
views to develop more fully; the “Athenea” building (1913) and the “Casa
Ensesa” (1912-15), in Girona (1913), la “Casa Masramon” (1913-14) in Olot,
the “Casa Cendra” (1913-15), in Anglés, are results of this change. Rafael
Masó was also a man of marked literary bent. |
